Something that has been on my Disney bucket list for many years is a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. At the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you can have a magical transformation into a princess. Well, you have a princess makeover! When we got married there wasn’t an age limit for the experience but we never fitted a visit in. I would have loved to have visited with my nieces. In the years after they introduced an age limit. To have a princess makeover you have to be between the ages of 3 and 12. Knowing this we knew that we wouldn’t want to return to Walt Disney World until Little E was old enough for a makeover.
Believe it or not, our little lady isn’t really into wearing princess dresses. For World Book Day we had to slowly talk her into being Tinkerbell. Knowing that a princess makeover would be an issue I decided to book a trial run. We would visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Disney Dream whilst we were on our four-night Disney Cruise. Little E was also booked in for the full makeover package at the Magic Kingdom. This would happen later on during our trip.
Our Visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Disney Dream
Being as this visit was Little E’s trail run I booked her in for the Crown package. This would mean she would have the princess makeover which included a hair style, make-up and nails. She wouldn’t be picking a costume but we were taking our own on this occasion.
Little E wasn’t happy about putting on the dress that I had brought with us. She was unsure about what was going to happen so kicked up a little bit of a fuss. Her fairy godmother was amazing with her and is a lot more patient than me. We also had to ban Daddy from the make-over as Little E got upset when he arrived. This is because she knew if she kicked up a fuss for him he might get her out of doing the make-over. I was being a little bit tougher that day!
Little E did do very well through the make over. We have to remember she is only three and had never been in a salon environment. She was also experiencing many firsts that day, nail polish and make-up to name a few.
Little E’s fairy godmother did have a bit of a battle on her hands. At the end of the makeover there should be a big reveal. This is where your little princess sees herself in the mirror for the first time. Little E battled to see in the mirror every time she had something new done. It did give us all a good giggle.
I think that Little E looked really lovely as a little princess. I’m not sure she quite liked the look but I’m proud of her for putting up with my Disney whims. If we are able to return to Disney before Little E is 12 I would love to do this again with her. I’m not sure that she would quite agree. I think her expressions say it all in the video below.
