Since Little E was born and Ethan became a big brother I have written a monthly round-up post about our siblings. I like to do this as its a nice way to remember little moments. It also shows me just how much they change over the years. I try to also create a round-up post of the year in December. Being that I have been so busy I have had to push that back a bit this time! We had a year full of adventures last year, here are our siblings in 2019.
January
In January we had the first adventure of the year visiting the 02 to watch Disney on Ice Dream Big. We also had some lovely moments visiting our family. I captured this photo of our siblings both dressed as camels when we visited my brother. They had so much fun running around in these outfits. It was lovely seeing them play together.
February
February was filled with illness for Little E meaning she had to have some time off of school. We did, however, have a brilliant half-term together. We got to visit Diggerland in Kent as well as Shrek’s Adventure in London.
March
In March we visited Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary and I took one of my favourite photos of our siblings this year.
April
April was a good month for our siblings. Ethan won an award at school and we went on quite a few adventures. These included a trip to Drayton Manor to visit Thomas Land and a trip to Drusillas.
May
In May we celebrated Ethan’s ninth birthday. It was also our first Disney trip of the year as we spent the May holiday in Disneyland Paris. We had a great trip full of many firsts for us. We even visited Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show as Ethan’s birthday gift.
June
In June we were invited to review a Minnie Mouse beach hut at Walton-on-the-Naze. The children love beach days and I’m quite happy with a Beach Hut Day. Spending the day at the Walton-on-the-Naze beach was a first for us too. It was a very different experience from our normal Clacton-on-Sea beach hut days.
July
July started off with our second trip to Drayton Manor last year. We were invited to watch the premiere of Thomas and Friends Digs & Discoveries. Little E celebrated her fifth birthday and loved her soft-play party. We also started to take advantage of our Colchester Zoo gold passes. By the end of July, our siblings were well and truly ready for the start of the summer holidays.
August
The summer holidays in August brought with it another Disney trip for us. One that we had kept a surprise from our siblings for as long as we could. We were going on a Disney Cruise to Norway! A Disney Crusie from the Dover is something that had been on my bucket list for many years. I was also very nervous about it as our first cruise on the Disney Dream didn’t go too well due to illness. Norway was amazing! This trip gave us a good mix of respite as Ethan loved the kid’s clubs and alone time with Little E. I’m so glad we got the chance to experience it.
September
The return to school and the changes that come with it meant that Ethan started to get anxious again in September. His behavior changed again and he started slapping things. It made life quite interesting. We were invited to Rollerbowl Romford for a family game of bowling. Although it was hard we did have a great day together.
October
We had another very busy half-term in October. We went away with our friends and had many different adventures. These included visiting Stonehenge, Longleat Safari Park, and Monkey World. We also finally got the chance to take Ethan to visit Peppa Pig World, a place that we have wanted to take him to for quite a while now.
November
Things in November calmed down for our siblings. There were weekends relaxing before the big Christmas build-up. We visited Colchester Zoo more to take advantage of their soft play area. We also started our Christmas early by visiting Father Christmas at Perrywood Garden Centre.
December
December was full of Christmas activities. There were Christmas plays and even a church carol service. Our sibling’s main Christmas activity was breakfast with Santa at Colchester Zoo. We also had lots of lovely family get-togethers giving us the chance to catch up with loved ones. Ethan did struggle a little over the Christmas holidays but overall our siblings had a great Christmas together. We ended the year as it started with a trip to the 02 to see Disney on Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic.
