A photo a day, every day, for a year!
Day 39
A lazy Sunday for us again and I didn’t take any photos until after Ethan had been put to bed. I captured Darren having some daddy time with Little E.
Day 40
I’m trying to introduce finger food to Little E as she turned 7 months old this week. All she does is hit the food on the table at the moment. I really don’t understand how baby led weaning would work in our house, as I was lucky if she has put anything in her mouth to try. Ethan never used his hands and it’s one of his red flags that was missed so I’m a little hung up about this. I have given myself a talking to and realise that from four months Little E has just had to take food from a spoon, this new skill will take time to learn and I’m not to stress over it!
Day 41
Ethan is in climbing mode again. This morning he climbed right onto Little E’s high chair to say hello.
Day 42
We have had an Elmo kind of week. We spotted Elmo in the river on the way home from town. It was such a shame as he was in very good condition and I’m sure he will be missed.
Day 43
I treated Ethan to a Nutella and Go I thought he might like it but he didn’t understand the concept of dipping the biscuits into the chocolate. I tried to show him how to eat it without having any of the chocolate myself but it ended up being wasted.
Day 44
Darren was at work today and the children kept me busy all day. I took this photo of Little E bouncing before bedtime.
Day 45
Another working day for Darren today so Ethan normally joins me in our bed from about 4am. If I’m lucky, and very rarely, he will go back to sleep. This morning he ended up having a meltdown at 6am because I wasn’t rubbing his foot in the correct way! He also didn’t want to get out of bed and I was able to clam him down with a cuddle, I think he might be feeling a little left out at the moment.
Little E joined us when she woke up at 7am so I took a picture to remember this moment as I had complained to Darren earlier in the week that we don’t get moments like this that often. Ignoring the meltdown of course!
Love the bouncing little E pic! Don’t stress about the weaning, she’s still young and will still be learning through watching you guys. #365
Thank you. She is watching us all of the time, the few times she did put something in her mouth it was when she was watching Ethan x
Gosh E is growing up so fast isn’t she, and Ethan! Love that photo of him on her highchair, reminds me of POD – she’s still climbing everything. Poor Elmo, he’ll certainly be missed. Hope you’re all good x
She really is, its scary! I felt sad for Elmo, someone did try to rescue him but they couldn’t reach x
Oh poor Elmo going for a journey down the river. Some lovely sibling moments there, you wouldn’t look at the photo and think a meltdown had occurred would you.
No they can come and leave very quickly at any time, but are a complete nightmare when they are happening x
Some lovely photos. I love the Daddy and Little E pic and the photo of Ethan on his little sister his high chair 🙂 It’s understandable that you would worry about Little E and the food, but I’m sure she will get the hang of it soon enough – playing with it is the first step! x
Thank you, she really is playing with the food. We will just work on it every day x
The first photo is just precious, and the shot of Ethan on the high chair made me laugh out loud – a true blogger moment, take the photo before rescuing the child 🙂
lol yes a photo must be taken at all times ;0)
It’s so lovely to see the bond between Ethan and Little E. He clearly loves her bless him. I love the photo of him on her hairchair, she looks so shocked! I can’t believe she is 7 months already x
He does have a bond with her, it is so nice to see considering we were told a sibling wouldn’t mean anything to him!
I think baby led weaning can take a while to master. H didn’t seem to be able to get his hands and mouth to work together for a while. I thought the Elmo photo was a bit sad too – I’m guessing he’ll be missed by someone.
It was really sad to see Elmo in the river, I’m sure he is missed x
sadly older siblings do feel left out at times, Bob is fab with the twins but can have his moments as well, so yes it is nice to capture the tender moments.
Love the daddy/Little E picture, both looking at each other.
Poor Elmo.
I have never understood baby led weaning either, the twins did it and to me it just looks like enough food is on the floor to feed a third world country.
Thank you for linking to Project 365
That’s what my mum said about baby led weaning, perhaps I have my expectations of the experience totally wrong ;0) x
Little E doesn’t seem too impressed with her big brother climbing on her chair, bless her. Lovely photos, and the last one is simply awww, so beautiful.
wow Jane i can’t believer little E is now 7 months!! .. where did that time go!
I know, we will be planning her 1st birthday soon! x
Gorgeous picture of the 2 of them together.
BLW is great, but it does take some getting used to for the parents let alone the baby (unless they’re a pig like N – he didn’t really put anything in his mouth before starting weaning, and from that point all food went in, but others just play with it for months)
I think BLW could be quite messy!
What lovely photos – oh no, poor Elmo! He looks upset too 🙁 #365
I think he was x
I am sure Little E will take to the finger foods soon, it must be hard not to compare. I remember E took ages to get to grasps with finger food as we started spoon feeding early, F on the other hand had finger foods straightaway so immediately took to them. I love the photo of them cuddling.
I think that’s what it is, because they are used to the spoon. She is getting there slowly x
What wonderful photos! The one of Ethan on the high chair made me laugh out loud!!
lol he can be quite funny at times x
I feel so sorry for Elmo, why is it when you have kids you tart thinking objects are really things.
I know, it really did make me sad x
