December 2021 was full of lovely Christmas activities for our siblings. Covid stayed out of our house meaning we didn’t have to cancel any trips. Our siblings also got to spend some time with our family. It feels like they haven’t been able to do that for ages. December 2021 actually started with our Christmas meal out with our friends. Something that we couldn’t do last year due to all of the restrictions in place. It felt great being able to get some normality back into our siblings’ lives.
This Christmas I was unsure of where to arrange a visit with Santa for our siblings. I really want Little E to experience Lapland UK now she is older. After seeing all of the cancellations last year I did worry that Ethan wouldn’t cope with the queueing for Santa I had seen on Facebook. The Lapland UK Superstar Day had sold out before tickets had gone on general sale. I knew that Jimmy’s Farm had run Santa events in the past. When they mentioned on Facebook that they would be running Breakfast with Santa I kept an eye on the booking dates. Breakfast with Santa at Jimmy’s Farm was a hit with our siblings and we even got to spend some time on the farm.
When I asked Little E where she would like to visit Santa she actually said Colchester Zoo. We did manage a Christmas visit to Colchester Zoo last year but Santa’s Grotto was closed. I think Little E has fond memories of the Twilight Christmas Experience and more recently her Breakfast with Santa visit at Colchester Zoo. This year the zoo was able to open the grotto again and you could purchase tickets for the Santa Experience. We did visit both of these Santa’s on the same weekend but our siblings know these Santa’s help the main man himself.
Our last adventure for December 2021 was a trip into London’s West End for our siblings. Before the start of the pandemic, I was able to book us tickets for the relaxed performance of Frozen. We kept the trip a secret as I was expecting the show to be cancelled because of the new covid variant. Frozen was amazing and it was lovely being able to see Covent Garden at Christmas.
I was also able to book us ice skating at Somerset House. Little E believes that it isn’t Christmas unless you get to go ice skating. Both of our siblings had so much fun on the ice. It was a fantastic end to our day in London. After all of our December 2021 adventures, we had a very enjoyable family Christmas.
