Ethan is a Daddy’s boy, always has been, so it hasn’t surprised me that Ethan says Daddy and there is no mention of Mummy!
Ethan did start to say Daddy earlier in the year but lost the word again. Now Ethan has started to say Daddy when my phone rings. He also says Daddy to me when I have my phone to make me aware he wants to call him.
Ethan can sometimes be heard saying ‘Bye Daddy’ and we were shouting it after him when he went to pay for the petrol at the garage one day.
I love that Ethan makes this connection, that he knows it’s Daddy we talk to everyday. It is a little worrying that he has asked me to call Daddy when Darren is at home with us at the weekends. We have called him and Darren has just come into the front room talking on his phone in the hope he can see the connection.
Calling Daddy has also become a little obsessive and last month I used all of my minutes up in a week calling Daddy. As much as it saddens me, I have had to try to limit the calls to stop Ethan from shouting at me if ever I touch the phone.
I really hope that one day we get the word Mummy, but I’m grateful for any words, so I will happily hear Daddy over and over again.
How lovely that he wants to talk to daddy so much, and that he’s got the word too.
Magic! I bet Darren is made up – hopefully you don’t have to wait too long for mummy x
That’s so lovely, what a special word 🙂
What a lovely post, he’ll be saying Mummy in no time x
