Frinton on Sea – Our New Years Day Tradition

We don’t have many traditions but there are some things that are definitely starting to become traditions in our family. Our favorite one being our New Years Day visit to see the sea.

I always feel that we are stuck in the house between Christmas and New Year’s. The days have a nothingness feel to them and visiting the sea really makes you feel like you are starting a fresh new year.

What was different, and lovely, about this year is that my brother and his family were also able to join us.

I checked the high and low tide times as I wanted to make sure we would be able to walk on the sand. When the tide is in it completely covers the sand, which means Ethan doesn’t get the chance to throw stones into the waves.

It was freezing, the wind was so cold and Little E wouldn’t wear her hat!

We didn’t stay for long but Ethan and Darren got their sea fix and Little E got to explore, as we were brave and let her out of the buggy for this walk.

We even remembered to bring Ethan’s scooter.

  1. I just had to click on this link! I am originally from clacton on sea but moved to Wales two years ago. Front on beach was one of my favourite places to go in Essex along with The Naze! Lovely to see photos of home 🙂 #countrykids

  2. This sounds like the perfect way to spend the day together, I bet you were so pleased when you found out that your brother and his family could join you too. Ethan looks so excited to be out exploring the seaside and not at all bothered by the cold. Little E looks most displeased by the wind! Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids

I know what you mean about needing to get out. I go crazy too stuck in the house between Christmas and new year. I love your video, fab music and I’d love to try making one too. Thanks so much for linking up with the first #FamilyFun hope to see you again.
