Project 365 2021 Week 19 Day’s 128-134

A photo a day, every day, for a year! This is my post for the year 2021 Week 19. This week passed just as quickly as last week did. The week started with celebrating Ethan’s eleventh birthday. We booked a beach hut at Walton-on-the-Naze so Ethan could celebrate at his happy place visiting the sea. The week was then overtaken with our butterflies. They started to emerge on Sunday which brought with it lots of excitement.

Project 365 – 2021 Week 19

Day 128

Ethan’s birthday and a day spent at the Sunnysands beach hut in Walton-on-the-Naze. Ethan was sent the Care Bear Birthday Bear to review for his birthday. They also sent a Care Bear for Little E so they came to the beach hut with us to celebrate. It was meant to rain all day but the weather slowly improved all through the day. Thankfully we didn’t see any rain whilst we were at the beach.

Day 129

first painted lady butterfly from chrysalis

Our first butterfly emerged this morning. We noticed that one chrysalis had turned very dark so we kept an eye on it. We still managed to miss the moment it came out. After breakfast, Darren noticed that the chrysalis looked different. He didn’t spot our first butterfly on the back of the lid.

Day 130

The remaining butterflies emerged this morning. The first one before the children left for school. I was lucky enough to see one emerge and capture it on video. Darren was hoping to see the last one come out but he missed it even though he was in the kitchen at the time it happened.

Day 131

I kept an eye on the weather and today was going to be one of the driest and warmest of the week. I thought it was the best day to release the butterflies. We all said goodbye to our little friends. It felt quite weird not having them around for the rest of the week.

Day 132

colchester zoo internet ticket booking queue 2021 Week 19

Colchester Zoo released more tickets today. Our zoo passes expired at the start of January but there was talk of an extension. During the past few months, they have been moving the pass holder’s details online. I can finally log us all in and can see that our Zoo passes have been extended to October. I joined the queue for tickets at 9 am in the morning and finally got booked at 1 pm.

Day 133

A rainy school run and I remembered to take Little E’s umbrella with me. Thankfully the rain wasn’t too bad and we managed to miss walking in all the other rain showers this week.

Day 134

ethan little e school run cuddles 2021 Week 19

Not much happened today but I did capture this great photo of the children cuddling on the way home from school. They must be missing each other in the day. Ethan can’t wait to see his sister in the playground at the end of each school day.

Happy belated birthday to Ethan, the bears looks cute!

The butterflies look great..think I would feel sad having to saying goodbye if we had them!

  2. How lovely to have a day at the beach hut for Ethan’s birthday. Seeing the butterflies emerge is so exciting and well done for managing to capture one on video. Glad your zoo passes were extended. Lovely photo of Ethan and Little E having a cuddle and I love Little E’s umbrella. #project365

  3. Happy birthday to Ethan, my eldest is 11 next week! Where did the time go? We’ve bought him an ant farm and the ants arrived today, thinking of getting butterflies for my daughter. #project365
