A photo a day, every day, for a year! This is my post for the year 2022 Week 17, 18, 19 and 20. After the loss of my dad, I feel like I have been living in a bit of a daze. I have lost all concept of time but having finally had my dad’s funeral last week I hope that will change. In the past weeks, life has gone on. Ethan celebrated turning twelve and I have somehow managed to continue to take some sort of photo every day. Something I thought I hadn’t done.
Project 365 – 2022 Week 17, 18, 19 & 20
Day 113 – Week 17
I had a surprise in the post from one of my aunts. My mum and dad found this bracelet and gave it to her when she was a child. She has kept it for all these years and thought now it was the right time to pass it on to me. It was a complete surprise.
Day 114
We took the children out for some fresh air today. Just to our local country park. Ethan keeps protesting if we stay in on Sundays.
Day 115
We are going to celebrate our friend’s birthday at the beach. So for his birthday gift, we hired a beach hut for him.
Day 116
I have been taking the car on the school run on Tuesdays but I’m actively trying to walk more now. My legs need reminding what they are there for.
Day 117
On the walk back from school I spotted Little E’s fluffy octopus on the floor. It must have fallen off of her bag on our walk to school.
Day 118
It’s that time of year there are lots of cherry blossoms now on our school runs.
Day 119
I had an appointment at Ethan’s school today. Let’s just say sometimes chocolate is needed after these visits!
Day 120 – Week 18
Last week was certificate week at Ethan’s swimming club. He swam 800 metres! So he was able to collect his award this week. 800 metres, honestly I can’t even swim one!
Day 121
This bank holiday we finally sorted out our bedroom. We had to declutter and have a good tidy. I had a look through our wedding box. One day I will put some of the items in a frame. I let Little E try on my bridal crown. It has been kept in a good condition considering I brought it in in 2007/2008.
Day 122
Bank holiday Monday and Little E’s swimming lesson is still taking place. She has moved up a group into the bigger pool and she is so proud of herself.
Day 123
Our garden is full of dandelions, Little E wanted to make a wish.
Day 124
A rainy day school run today. Ethan carries his own umbrella now but I missed taking a photo of his smile.
Day 125
Little E was complaining of headaches over the Easter holidays. We took her for an eye test only to discover she needs glasses. We collected them after school today.
Day 126
Disney on Ice Dream Big tickets went on sale today. We have seen this show a few years ago but they have updated it with Coco for this run. I was unsure if we should buy tickets as I was worried Little E was getting bored of going. But then I thought she probably won’t want to go when she starts high school so I better make the most of it.
Day 127 – Week 19
A trip to LEGOLAND Windsor to celebrate Ethan’s birthday today. We haven’t visited since 2018 so it was nice to see all the new and updated areas. There was a bit of protest because I didn’t book to stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel! I now owe them a stay there!
Day 128
And just like that Ethan is twelve!
Day 129
The weather is getting warmer, it’s time for hats at school. Ethan is proudly wearing his Disney Cruise Line cap. The children were given these as gifts at the end of our Disney Crusie Line Seacation last year.
Day 130
We met my niece at LEGOLAND as my great-nephew shares Ethan’s birthday. She brought them both mini chocolate cakes. We shared Ethan’s today.
Day 131
We need to start thinking about my dad’s funeral and Darren needed shoes. He sent me this photo to show he had found some. His old shoes came to a spectacular end at my niece’s wedding.
Day 132
Poppies are popping up on our walk to school.
Day 133
A school mum friend gave me this colouring set for Little E as her son wouldn’t use it. Little E spent ages on it.
Day 134 – Week 20
I got out to meet up with my friend today. I can’t remember the last time we got to catch up without the kids. We treated ourselves to milkshakes. It was nice to get together and we must do it again soon.
Day 135
Beach hut birthday celebrations today at Walton-on-the-Naze. The sea was cold and the weather wasn’t that warm but that doesn’t stop the children from going in the sea!
Day 136
We have quite a big trip planned for the summer but I’m not sure if it is the right time to go. So I have been toying with the idea of a few days at Disneyland Paris instead. It is so expensive now, everything is! I was using the calendar to help me work out the cheaper days to go.
Day 137
I sent this quote to my Disney partner in crime. Still, nothing is booked as we are still in debate.
Day 138
With Ethan’s birthday out of the way, it’s time to think about Little E’s birthday. She wants a party. Again every option has increased in price so I’m trying to work out the best way to do it.
Day 139
It was my dad’s funeral today. I still can’t believe it happened. I’m not sure if you are meant to take photos of the flowers but I wanted to remember the flowers I got him as the day is all a bit of a blur.
Day 140
My step-sister gave me some flowers to take home from the wake. She had these made for the tables. I could smell them all over the house.
That was our 2022 Week 17, 18, 19 and 20 adventures. You can read about weeks 14, 15 and 16 here.
Looks like it’s been a busy time.,
Sorry to hear about your dad. The flowers look lovely.
Well done Ethan on his 800 metres, that’s huge. And Happy birthday to him too.
I am glad you managed to find Little E’s fluffy octopus on the way home. What a lovely idea hiring the beach hunt for your friends birthday present. The cherry blossom look beautiful. I always enjoy seeing them blossom too. Well done Ethan on your swimming certificate. I hope you manage to get Disney booked soon.
