During 2020 we all had to learn to appreciate going for walks. It looks like 2021 will be full of local walks too! Our first walk of 2021 took place at Frinton-on-Sea. It’s our New Years Day tradition to visit Frinton-on-Sea to walk along the seafront. This year we left the house early for our walk as last year it was very busy during our afternoon walk.

This year we took the children’s scooters with us. The first time Ethan used a scooter was during one of our New Year Day walks. The scooters have been a great form of exercise during the lockdowns. They are always happy to use them.

It was very cold for our first walk of 2021. Because of this, we decided to go for a shorter walk along the seafront. Turning right to walk away from Walton-on-the-Naze. If you wanted to you could walk from Frinton-on-Sea to Walton-on-the-Naze.

The children were happy to scoot ahead of us. Ethan was very happy to watch the sea. He is always happy when he can see the sea. We did our best to avoid other walkers and keep socially distanced.

When we got to a quiet section of sand we let the children go down to the water. Thankfully the tide was going out. At high tide, the sand is completely hidden. They happily took to their favourite pass time of throwing stones into the sea.

We were waiting at the top of the stairs with their scooters. We didn’t want to have to de-sand them. Ethan was unsure with us being a small distance away from him. The tide was still quite high but he wanted us to be nearer. He didn’t throw the stones for long and quickly came back up to be with us.

With both children happy that their beach time was over it was back to scooting. We soon made our way back to the nice warm car. We are sticking to more local walks at the moment but Ethan is chomping at the bit to visit the sea again soon.
It looks like you had a fab walk and it’s great to get some freash air and exercise x
