A photo a day, every day, for a year! This is my post for the year 2021 Week 49, 50 and 51. I honestly don’t know where December went. Ethan’s class was closed due to a covid outbreak for most of December. Thankfully he was able to return for the last week of term and some Christmas fun. Having him at home did cause me some anxiety as I didn’t feel like I could start the Christmas preparations. It all turned out OK in the end and we also got to enjoy some Christmas activities without Covid cancelling them.
Project 365 – 2021 Week 49, 50 & 51
Day 338 – Week 49
My mum made this Christmas Wreath with the help of my aunt today. She gave it to us to put on our front door.
Day 339
We were able to go to our Christmas meal with our friends today. We couldn’t last year due to the restrictions in place. Afterwards, I took Little E to the cinema for some mother and daughter time. We watched Encanto which I knew was also going to be released on Disney+ on Christmas eve. We both loved it and it is well worth a watch.
Day 340
Today was the only day we really had the time to put our Christmas tree up. Ethan was at home so it was a little bit stressful. He kept telling us where he expected things to go. When Little E come home from school she put the decorations on the tree with Ethan.
Day 341
With Ethan not going to school I’m taking the car for Little E’s school run. It was very icy this morning. I loved the pattern on the cars wing mirror.
Day 342
Ethan had got it into his head that we needed to visit SMYTHS Toys Superstore so we went after taking Little E to school. He picked a gift for him and one for Little E. Also a birthday gift for a friend. We were meant to save Little E’s gift for Christmas. We have discovered that Ethan isn’t very good at keeping secrets!
Day 343
Little E had a Christmas jumper day at school. It was only when she put it on did we realise that her jumper lit up.
Day 344
We have broken a few bowls recently so I ordered some new ones from ASDA. Darren thought I was trying to drop him a hint with the Dalmatian pattern.
Day 345 – Week 50
It’s a very busy day for us today. We had breakfast with Santa at Jimmy’s Farm in the morning and then Ethan took part in his very first swimming gala in the evening. He came home with quite a collection of medals. We are so proud of him. It was a very entertaining evening.
Day 346
Another Santa visit for us today. We went to Colchester zoo to visit Santa’s grotto. They called it the Santa Experience this year. It was so good to be able to visit again as they couldn’t open the grotto last year.
Day 347
Both children were meant to have their flu vaccines today. They cancelled the vaccination team at Little E’s school. Thankfully they still went into Ethan’s school. We had prepared Ethan for the vaccine so I was so glad they didn’t have to cancel his.
Day 348
Ethan could wear a Christmas jumper into school today. We got him this jumper last Christmas and I totally forgot about it. I was glad he got the chance to wear it. We were also sent a video of the children singing a Christmas song in their class today.
Day 349
Ethan has really taken to playing my Nintendo Switch this year. So much so that I haven’t been able to play it and he was able to damage the controllers. I had to place an order for new ones. Not really what I wanted to do before Christmas as they cost £70 but Ethan not being able to play the switch would have been worse.
Day 350
More Christmas fun is planned at Little E’s school today. This gave them another good reason to have a second Christmas Jumper day.
Day 351
The last day of term for both of our children today. Little E was so excited about the class Christmas party. Unfortunately, I had a call from her school to collect her at 9.50 am. She somehow walked or run into a wall. Giving herself a nose bleed and swollen nose. Thankfully it didn’t turn into two black eyes.
Day 352 – Week 51
It was our haircut day today and our hairdresser visits my mum’s house. So we went over there for my colour and cut. This is my mums Christmas tree.
Day 353
We made it to the West End to see Frozen! I was so worried that one of us would test positive or the show would be cancelled but we got to see it. We had a booking for the relaxed performance before the lockdown happened. So this was our rescheduled, rescheduled time to see it. We kept it a secret from the children so the whole day was a surprise for them.
Day 354
Ethan discovered the Santa Tracker on Sky last year. It was back on there today so we had lots of checking the countdown and being asked why Santa was checking his list.
Day 355
Little E was full of cold so we ordered a PCR test for her. We thought it was better to be safe than sorry before the Christmas holiday. Thankfully she was negative and it was just a cold.
Day 356
Little E is loving her early Christmas gift from our friends. It’s a Crayola tracing set.
Day 357
Lots of Santa Tracker checking is still going on and now it’s less than a day before he leaves the North Pole!

That’s an impressive medal haul. Ouch to Little E’s school bump. Amazes me how easily they seem to get hurt, but then avoid too much damage.

Her Christmas jumper is very cute. Ethan’s star wars jumper is cool (we have a similar one for Eddie). Looks like you had a lovely festive December, with trips and lovely surprises. What a lovely wreath, your mum and aunty did a great job there. Sorry school was cancelled for so long, hopefully everything will go back to normal this year. I keep hoping anyway. Bless you its frustrating isn’t it especially with controllers being so expensive, hate it when one of my boys controllers break. Love all the Christmas jumper pics.
Switch controllers are soooo expensive, we had to fork out for some new ones this Christmas. My eldest is still too young for the vaccine 🙁 #project365
