A photo a day, every day, for a year! This is my post for the year 2021 Week 43. It was our half-term week this week and we actually got out and about. Both Darren and I had the week off of work and it was lovely being able to enjoy time with the children. Unfortunately, our adventures had to end abruptly when Ethan’s lateral flow test gave him a positive result.
Project 365 – 2021 Week 43
Day 296
Little E has started tracing characters in her Disney storybooks. So I had a go today. I used to draw Disney characters freehand but I haven’t done that for many years. It was a very relaxing exercise.
Day 297
Still Walt Disney World dreaming. This was the availability of air mile flights on Sunday. We have enough air miles for three flights but the costs of flights are still stupidly high.
Day 298
Ethan was desperate to go to soft play today. It was all he talked about for weeks. It wasn’t somewhere I really wanted to take the children this week as I would have rather kept outside in the open air. But if there is something Ethan has his mind set on you won’t hear the end of it until his request is fulfilled. And he never forgets!
Day 299
Ethan’s other request was to visit pumpkins. We normally go to Foxes Farm but I wanted to try somewhere different this year. It turns out it was a good call as Foxes Farm sold out of pumpkins. We went to Prettyfields Vineyard. It wasn’t a pumpkin patch as such but it was a nice change and we got to eat some Halloween cakes.
Day 300
Our local trampoline park holds SEN sessions but they are always on a day we can’t make. As we had spent time inside in soft play I thought why not go jumping. I booked the SEN session for the day after taking our lateral flow tests to make sure we were negative. The kids loved every minute, so did Darren. I discovered that I feel very old!
Day 301
We went to Colchester Zoo today to see what they had on for Halloween. The fairy walk was transformed into a Day of the Dead Fiesta Footpath. I thought it was very good but Ethan kept asking where the fairies were.
Day 302
We were going out again today and Nanny was coming with us. As a precaution I always like us to do the lateral flow tests. Ethan’s showed up as positive so we did another one to double-check. Day out cancelled and PCR tests ordered. I informed everyone I think needs to know for Monday as we await the PCR results.

I hope you do get to go to Disney and Ethan had a fun time at soft play. Trampolining is so much fun but so tiring. lol

Looks like you got in lots of activities for half term before the positive tests. Hopefully he’s feeling ok, and noone else tested positive

Your drawing is very cute. Soft play is unfortunately always a germy place, even long before covid. That’s one big spider on the farm. Ethan looks so happy on the trampoline. My boys love trampolines as well.
